How can you pack your fragile items?
Everyone has fragile items that they need to deal with on their move. Things like wine glasses, plates, mirrors, and anything else made of porcelain or glass will need special attention as you plan your move.
You wouldn’t want to get into your new house and find out that all of your breakables are broken, so we’ve put together some quick tips for packing fragile items.
Let’s take a look.
It’s time to pack the kitchen and grandma’s expensive china is staring down at you, daring you to pack it. How can you make sure that each piece of this 100 year-old china is going to survive the terrors of moving day? The answer is simple. You need to wrap it up.
One of the simplest and most effective ways to pack fragile items is to wrap them carefully in newspaper. Once the newspaper is securely fastened with some tape, you should place some packing peanuts or old t-shirts into the boxes for some extra security and cushion. Then, you can place your plates into the boxes gently.
For glasses, the method is much the same. Simply wrap your glasses in newspaper. You should also place some balled-up newspaper into each glass for extra support.
Make sure to label the boxes “Fragile”.
